On October 14, 2006, the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department conducted its Annual Fire Prevention and Life Safety Day from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The event took place at the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department on 6061 Central Avenue, in Capitol Heights, Maryland. As part of National Fire Prevention Week, which runs from October 8 – 14, 2006, we stressed the importance of fire safety and provide our citizens the tools they need to stay safe. This year’s theme was cooking safety – we introduced new custom literature aimed at reducing cooking fires and fire extinguisher usage.
As part of our commitment to the citizens of Capitol Heights, our Annual Fire Prevention and Life Safety Day included fire and safety information and resources, interactive learning activities, live fire and rescue demonstrations.
We would like to thank all of the people who made this event possible. We thank our sponsors Kerley Signs and Popeyes Chicken for their support.
This event would not have been possible without the help of B-Shift crew and CHVFD members who worked to put on the event.
