On October 11, 2008, the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department conducted its Annual Fire Prevention and Life Safety Day from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. The event took place at the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department on 6061 Central Avenue, in Capitol Heights, Maryland. As part of National Fire Prevention Week, which ran from October 5 – 12, 2008, we stressed the importance of fire safety and provided our citizens the tools they need to stay safe. This year’s theme was “preventing home fires.”
As part of our commitment to the citizens of Capitol Heights, our Annual Fire Prevention and Life Safety Day included fire and safety information and resources, interactive learning activities, live fire and rescue demonstrations.
