Town of Capitol Heights Presents Past Chief with Proclamation for Faithful Service

On January 14, 2013, Mayor Kito A. James and the Council of the Town of Capitol Heights presented Chief James McClelland with a proclamation for his service and dedication to the citizens of Capitol Heights. “Chief McClelland, in his long-life pursuit of continued service and love for duty and commitment has successfully and diligently protected, saved and aided citizens of this Township through his steadfastness.”

Mayor James and the Council thanked Chief McClelland for his faithful service and the many sacrifices and contributions that he has made to protect lives, not only in the municipality, but across the entire County.

Chief McClelland has faithfully served the department for 43 years, 24 of those years as chief. In late 2012 he made the decision to not to seek re-election in 2013. He continues his service as President of the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department and Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2013.

The officers and members of the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department are proud of Chief McClelland’s commitment to the members of the community and to the members of this department.
