CHVFD Mourns the Loss of Ladies Auxiliary President Loretta Hooe

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary President Frances Loretta Hooe on July 7, 2014.

Loretta was born on December 25, 1934, in Washington, D.C. to parents Harvey E. and Gretchen Ennis. Harvey was a member of the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department. Just this past fall, Loretta and her husband James Hooe celebrated their 61st anniversary. Along with her husband she is survived by a son, Donald L. Hooe (Donna); five grandchildren, Tanya, Bryan, Tracy, Christopher, and Christina; eight great grandchildren, Jessica, Ashlee, Taylor, Jaelin, Cody, Aiden, Olivia, and Jaimie; one great great granddaughter, Emma, and two brothers Ralph E. and Carter Ennis. She was preceded in death by a son James F. Hooe.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed coupon collecting, crocheting, having lunch at Captain D’s, crossword puzzles, shopping at the commissary, yard sales, BINGO, and being the #1 magazine subscriber. Loretta relished spending time with her family and friends. She also volunteered in her community. She served as the President of the Capitol Heights Ladies Auxiliary from 2012 to the present. At the time of her death she was also serving as the President of the Rebecca’s Lodge #36, Forestville, MD.
