Each of us knows someone whose life has been affected by cancer. This holiday season, the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department will celebrate those who have corageously battled this horrible disease with a special Tree of Courage. Personalized ornaments will be placed on the Tree of Courage at our firehouse in honor of survivors and in memory friends and loved ones. Ornaments will bring awareness to all of the different types of cancer that affect so many lives every day.
In 2015, the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department set up the Tree of Courage for the first time. The response was outstanding and many contributed to help us raise awareness of this terrible disease that affects so many. Funds raised from the 2015 Tree of Courage were donated to Firefighter Cancer Support Network and the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
For a minimum donation between $15 (Medium) – $20 (Large), we will create and place a personalized ornament on the 2016 CHVFD Tree of Courage.
To place your ornament, please send your donation, your loved one’s name, tell us if it’s in honor or in memory, and the type of cancer.
