On August 13, 2016 the Prince George’s County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association (PGCVFRA) held its annual Tribute Dinner to honor and recognize volunteer members of the Prince George’s County fire service. We are very proud to announce that at the 2016 PGCVFRA Tribute Dinner that Robert E. “Gene” McClelland, Sr. and Charles E. Miller were honored at this special tribute at the Accokeek Volunteer Fire Department.
Robert E. “Gene” McClelland, Sr. joined the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department in 1949 and has 67 years of service. He has held the positions of Assistant Chief, President, Vice President and member of the Board of Directors.
Charles E. Miller joined in 1951 and has 65 years of service. He has held the positions of Chief, President, Treasurer and member of the Board of Directors.
Congratulations to Gene and Charlie for their steadfast service to the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department and to the citizens of Prince George’s County.
The Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department is a non-profit organization that provides fire and emergency services for the town of Capitol Heights and surrounding communities. We are located about 5 miles from our nation’s capital, in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Our station is staffed both by career and volunteer personnel.
