James McClelland, Sr. Inducted into the PGCVFRA Hall of Fame
On September 13, 2001 James McClelland was inducted into the Prince George’s County Volunter Fire and Rescue Association’s Hall of Fame. Chief McClelland has served with our company and the citizens of Prince George’s County for over 30 years.
Tommy Russell Named Junior Firefighter of the Year
Tommy Russell was named PGCVRFA Junior Firefighter of the Year on September 13, 2001. Tommy joined the department in March of this year.
CHVFD Mourns the Loss of Chief Dale Spencer
We are sad to report we have lost fellow firefighter and friend Dale Spencer. Dale served as a Prince George’s County Division Chief and also as Deputy Chief of the District Heights Fire Department (Station 26). Dale also served with us at Company 5 during the early 80’s.
Russell Joins PGCVFRA Fire Commission
We are proud to report that Bob Russell was sworn in as a member of the Prince George’s County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association Fire Commission.
Lynn & Bill Hawkins are Now Proud Parents
Congratulations to members Lynn & Bill Hawkins on their new baby girl. Seirra Nya Hawkins was born on June 13th at 2310 hrs. and weighed in at 6 pounds 5 ounces!
Akron® SaberJet Nozzle Trial to Take Place at Company 5
Two companies in Prince George’s County have been selected to test the Akron® SaberJet Nozzle for a 60 day period. Companies 5 and 47 will be using the nozzle in their daily operation after an orientation by Akron Brass representatives. We have learned that Company 5 will begin its trial of the new nozzle on January 16, 2002.
Chief Frank Briguglio Inducted into the Founders’ Circle
The Founders’ Circle Memorial & Fallen Firefighter Memorial Ceremony was held on October 19, 2000 at 6pm. One of the additions to the Founders’ Circle Memorial was dedicated to our past Chief and past Prince George’s County Chief Frank Briguglio.
PGVFRA Convention Brings Two New Hall of Fame Members
