ngine 51 was dispatched as the first due engine company for an apartment fire at 5290 Marlboro Pike in Hillside. When they arrived they found heavy fire conditions on all three floors of the building. The fire escalated to a 3rd alarm and was the result of arson. There was one fatality. This was the first incident where the engine utilized the recently acquired large diameter supply hose (LDH).
