December 9, 1921
-- Washington, DC Commissioners approved the sale of an old horse drawn steamer to the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department for $125. The story has been passed down that when the delegation from the CHVFD arrived to pick-up the steamer it was in use at a fire. After the fire, it was brough home to Capitol Heights. The farm tractor was used to pull the steamer rather than horses.
