Members of the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department attended the 2003 Maryland State Fireman’s Convention the week of June 14, 2003.

Station 5 Building Project Moves Forward

Company representatives recently met with WMCRP Architects to kick off the design process of our rennovation. WMCRP walked through the building and discussed the proposed renovations and addition, so they could negotiate a design fee and schedule. The design fee proposal is due on June 1, 2003.

Dwayne Frost Off to Serve His Country

Dwayne has contacted us to let us know that he is ok. On Friday, January 24, 2003 Dwayne was deployed to the Middle East. We wish Dwayne a continued safe journey and pray for his return. Anyone wishing to pass along good wishes or a letter please contact us. Thank you Dwayne!

CHVFD Mourns the Loss of Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Noblit

We have just learned that Clarence Noblit passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2002. Clarence was a 10 year life member of the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department and joined the department in 1964.

Company 5 Has a Busy Weekend

On Friday August 23 at 0050 hours a house fire was dispatched for the 900 block of Nova Avenue (Box 5-11). Chief 5a arrived on scene with level one operations with heavy fire to the rear of the house through the roof. The fire was knocked within 15 minutes The fire is still under investigation.

The Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department held an Awards Picnic on July 27, 2002 at 6pm. Truck 5 is Busiest Ladder in Prince George’s County

Firehouse® Magazine’s 2001 National Run Survey lists Prince George’s County Truck Company 5 as busiest ladder in the county and the 104th busiest ladder in the United States. The 2001 National Run Survey is located on pages 126-143 in the June issue of Firehouse® Magazine.
