Dwayne Frost returns home from Iraq
On Tuesday, April 27, 2004 Washington area families welcomed their loved ones home at The Freedom Salute for Operation: Iraqi Freedom Ceremony at the D.C. Amory. Members of the 547th Transportation Company of the D.C. National Guard returned home from serving our country in Iraq for over a year.
Crew from Station 5 takes part in trench rescue

At approximately 1715 hours on Sunday, April 25, 2004 units were dispatched to the 5900 block of Seat Pleasant Drive (Company 8’s first due) for an accident involving a backhoe with someone pinned. Engine 51, Engine 381, Rescue Squad 8, Medic 46, Ambulances 229 and 289, and Volunteer Battalion Chief 1 (Chief 8-McGill) responded.

On Sunday, April 18, 2004 at approximately 0600 hours units were dispatched for a reported apartment fire at 4432 68th Place, in Station 30’s first due. Units arrived on the scene to find heavy fire conditions in this four story garden apartment. Multiple apartments were fully involved.

On Saturday, April 10, 2004 at approximately 0314 hours firefighters from the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department received a walk-in report that smoke was coming from a house at the intersection of Central Avenue and Suffolk Avenue.
